A few years ago, I had a persistent belief in web game development: great interactive works require a full team. A single developer could only build simple, rudimentary demos. Complex gameplay, delicate visual effects, balanced numerical logic, and complete UI interaction were always out of reach for solo creators.
Today, that barrier has been completely broken by AI.
As an independent web game developer who focuses on HTML5 browser game creation, I’ve experienced this change firsthand. AI is not a fancy auxiliary tool for us anymore. What once required days of technical debugging can now be completed in a morning, letting me focus 100% on gameplay innovation rather than trivial coding.
The second subversive experience is AI solves the "art and design shortcoming" of technical developers.
Most solo web developers are good at code logic but lack artistic design ability. It was once a common dilemma: excellent gameplay ideas are restricted by rough UI, monotonous scene styles and rigid special effects, making the finished product far less attractive than commercial works.

This kind of precise iteration, which once required weeks of manual polishing by small teams, can now be completed by individual developers in one day with the help of AI.
What moves me most is that AI is lowering the threshold of creative trial and error.
In the past, we dared not try complex gameplay and innovative interaction logic easily, because every trial and error meant a lot of time cost and code rewriting cost. Today, AI can quickly help us reconstruct code logic, optimize game frameworks, and even expand random plot interaction and dynamic skill mechanisms according to creative ideas. Many independent developers around me have used AI to complete innovative web games with random plot generation and real-time interactive gameplay — works that were once exclusive to large game teams.
